Can I hire a car without any excess/deposit?
The short answer
Excess and deposit are two different things when hiring a vehicle.
- A deposit will be eligible to be refunded in full when the vehicle is returned in its original condition.
- In addition to the car hire costs, all customers must also leave a 250 euro deposit.
- Deductible protection is optional, but it does reduce your level of liability.
The long answer
1) Deposit:
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, V Pay and Maestro cards. Customers wishing to hire a seven- or nine-seater minivan, a large or premium SUV, or a luxury car or higher class of vehicle must pay with a credit card and be over 25 years old. Prepaid cards are not accepted as normal credit cards.
All car hire customers must leave a deposit of 250 euro in addition to the car hire costs.
Don't worry though, this will be refunded as long as the vehicle is returned in its original condition.
2) Excess:
Excess protection is optional. You may purchase excess protection to reduce the amount for which you could be held liable in the event of accident damage or theft.
